the post before mine pretty much is saying what I'm about to....BUT...anyway lol
are you sure its because of the DRIVERS SEAT air bag and NOT the passenger seat air bag?? I went to the store the other day and had a couple of gallons of milk in my passenger seat and the light came on........I believe it is a sensor/warning so that you know the AIR BAG has been disabled...because of the use of a rear facing child seat... our Chrystler Pacifica has this feature as well...IF you place anything "heavy enough but still lite" in the seat it thinks it's a child...and will disable the air bag....for safty reasons IF this isnt the case and your passenger seat is EMPTY then I would take it to the dealership...or somewhere FAST...you NEVER know when it will be need... (both of our vehilces are 06's by the way)

I think the airbag light that the OP is seeing is the one in the instrument cluster (the red warning light). I have that one periodically going off and on in my 06 GT Convertible. Took it to the dealer last night and they said it's going off because of a 'low voltage' signal from the passenger 'side curtain' airbag...
However the thing that stinks is the dealer says that they have to take apart half of my interior to try to find a 'pinched wire'. If they find no pinched wire or broken parts, then and only then - will they replace the airbag. He told me I could be without my PT for as long as 5 days! I'm about 75% sure it's a loose/pinched wire though, as if I jostle the passenger seat (going over a bump, or just doing it manually) - the airbag light goes off, then comes back on. ~Robert --Edit -- wow ... didn't notice the original post was from so long ago! |
