Default P/S reservoir

Fixing a friends turbo power steering leak. The seal between the reservoir and pump looks like multiple wrong size O rings. Can I get this seal or do we need a new pump?

Get Chromenut to help you find the part # and order it at the dealer.

Why recommend a dealer part when one that's JUST as good... Well EXACTLY the same as a new dealer part.... Except fluid has never been in the new one. But for $10 instead of on the VERY generous side at least $50. It's a non pressurized container. Not suggesting it but you could use a milk jug if you really wanted to. I don't mean any disrespect and I know I'm new here but am I missing something?

Exclamation Re: P/S reservoir

Hi guys, long time no see, sorry for it.

I'm having the same issue, my reservoir is in good shape, but the part where the reservoir meets the pump is leaking a lot, and I removed the reservoir and is missing the O ring, I think it cracked, does some one knows what size of o ring do I need? its a special one? or its a standard one of those that handle even brake fluid? or can I just put some black silicone there, wait till it dries? what can I do? I know the leak is coming from that specific part of the reservoir... Ive read a lot of posts and noticed that the melting thing I removed from that nipple was my corrode o ring... so now I'm blank, any help would be cool.

Cheerios... Daniel

Not sure what you are suggesting but a milk jug doesn't fit our car and The real part is very hard to come buy. Not the same as the na pt.

Is there some one out there that has relocated the reservoir? I saw once a guy at the strip with a moroso in his srt4... but I didn't have the problem so I didnt put any attention how it was... but they have way more space under the hood

I learned early on in my automotive career.... Anything is possible with enough imagination, cutting tourch, wielder and beer..... So milk jug is plausible just not practical. I'm suggesting hitting the upullit yard and yanking one from a like car. It's easy to see if its busted or not and most have sinks so you can fill it up with water to test for leaks.... Just make sure its dry before install. I'm all about cheap... but right.

Same problem will be the seal. I was suggesting getting Chromenut ,who is good at using the parts books. To help with that seal. Not sure if it's a standard o ring or not. Go look at my project thread if you want to see on the cheap. The link is in my signature.

Lightbulb Re: P/S reservoir

If you could take off the O-ring,and you have a NAPA nearby.....You could take it in to them, and I bet they could find a perfect match for it,and it might be less than a dollar(my local NAPA,would tell me: 'Eh,don't worry about it.')
