There are several good suppliers on E-bay that carry good warranties. A few members have gotten re-manufactured ECU's and have not had problems. To order form any of them you will need to have your VIN # ready.

Hi Nitro, Thanks for the response. I started looking on ebay, google etc. I was wondering if any members had a place that they've used and had a positive experience with. I found one place that had a unit listed at $159 then another at $259 looked both places up and they are the same company listed under different online company names.

I bought one from Auto Module Source in Davie FL. two months ago for $142. They shipped it promptly and everything went smooth on the transaction. The replacement unit worked fine and solved my problem. -Mike in Seattle

I ordered one from AutoComputerExchange.com. I think I paid around $300 for mine and it came with a lifetime warranty. You can get them cheaper with less warranty. I just wanted the certainty of a long warranty. Good customer service to deal with.

^^^ This is by far the best deal I have seen. The main reason that the PCM in PT Cruisers fails is because of heat. The processor panel in the PCM is soft gel mounted and subject to materiel shift when it gets hot which can lead to PCM failure. Testing a core PCM by exposing it to to 190-200F duplicating aprox. extreme under-hood temperatures and then examining it after a 20 minute exposure will revile what could happen to the inside of a PCM.

If you go to the AutoComputerExchange.com website, the ECM for a 1st-Gen non-turbo is about $186. But AutoComputerExchange.com has the same ECM on sale on eBay right now for $143.95 with same lifetime warranty.

The OP may find the same or similar for his PT.

LIFETIME WARRANTY = GOOOOOD!

You may be wondering how I know about the ECU failures? Well me friend the Kitchen oven is great for all kinds of testing when the wife is at work.
