Default Trouble shooting EVAP system

I'm getting a check engine light and the code is coming up P-0442 Medium leak EVAP system, anyone have any Idea where I should look first to solve this problem or do I need to take it to the dealer?

Isn't that the loose gas cap warning? If warning doesn't go off, I think you have to take battery cable off.

Pages 390-394 of the 2004 powertrain diagnostic manual.
It details the diagnosis and testing of the EVAP system for that code.

You need to verify the operation of the leak detection pump, fuel tank pressure sensor, evaporative emission hoses, charcoal canister, and EVAP vent solenoid. You can pressurize the system with an EVAP test machine and add smoke to visually locate the leak. The machine is about $2500, if you want one.

Honestly,... this is what I do. It's not as easy to repair a fault as "just unhook the battery cable".
