Default Pearl Harbor

A special thanks to the brave men who died and suffered on this day many years ago from a sneak attack by the Japanese.

And to their families, some of whom never got to see their Dads.

Good post.
I worked for a Japanese company for a while, and every Dec 7 the head of security would fly the flag at half mast - he was an ex-Marine - and the Japs would get upset.
All they regretted about WWII is that they lost.

I second that.

It seems that way. Japanese had been saved from previous invasions by 'divine wind' and as the phrase implies, thought God was on their side more so than most peoples.
While Germans wear their WWII guilt on their sleeve, so to speak, one doesn't get the same impression from the Japanese.

It's good to remember what happened to the young men at Pearl Harbor, a day or so after, MacArthur allowed Pearl Harbor II when his aircraft got bombed in the Philippines after being specifically warned.

The Chinese people were slaughtered like dogs at the hands of the Japanese.

Then the poor Marines who suffered unspeakable misery before dying to bring freedom back to the specific should be remembered, too.

A good way to honor these guys is to read "With the old Breed"
With the Old Breed - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A quick read but gives you a non 'John Wayne' version of what these men went thru for us.
