Good spark plugs and better wires are probably the best bang for the buck if everything is OEM right now. The OEM Chrysler coil is reported to be as good as it gets. So you likely wouldn't see any improvement by changing it.

That was my first upgrade. Read about it here:

if you want an aggressive sounding engine and a better throttle response then go with a short ram air intake, which what they really are but are sometimes called a cold air intake. but your best bet is to do an air box mod and use a k&n drop in filter. upgrade your exhaust system. full cat back with a chambered muffler. I had a Super 44 Flowmaster muffler on Eve(07 Touring ed n/a) but a fully exhaust system would've been better. i suggest going with a 2 chambered muffler but i think the cat backs that are made for our pt's come with a 3 chambered muffler. I would say use iriduim plugs, they can withstand heat better then copper or platinum's. definitely change your wires to 8mm or bigger. i know you said you already did that but what kinda plugs and wires did you use? other then that do waste time or money on anything else cuz that's all you can do to an N/A. maybe get some sticky tires like drag radials for better traction. other then that, maybe save up to get a turbo PT.

Yep, that would be the second thing to do. That's what I did. Read about mine here:

Tower strut brace? Many members report no improvement in handling, but a few report and noticeable improvement in stiffness. They are getting hard to find new, but there's plenty of used ones around. Some have to be modified to fit right. You can read about mine here:

The "Handy" NOPI Strut Bar Installation

On plug wires, the original plug wires have a reported tendency to break down over time and cause the engine to run rough. Many say 8 mm wires are best for replacement. Others say any quality after market set will do. If you look back to my tune up link, you will see the ones I used but those are not a direct fit. There's many to choose from. MSD Part#32689 is likely a top end choice.

Here's my strut bar:

Easiest, cheapest thing you can do is pump up your tires - low tires make for sluggish acceleration and handling.
I put my tires 2-3 PSI over the driver door sticker recommendation (because they'll lose air).
Always check tires when cold (not right after you've been driving).

A set of NS cams will give you power in torque and HP with no other mods. They can be transferred to a Turbo 2.4 should you do that in the future. Any other power augmented engine part will only add more then if the part by itself without the camshafts were installed.
