06 and up's didn't have issues with the wiring in the steering column like the previous generation. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen but it's rare.

Good to know - I thought from other forum threads that '06 did still have those problems. Anyway, it wasn't my mechanic who did the ignition switch, so who knows.

I haven't had a problem since I cleaned the battery terminals but noticed last night after a 50-ish mile drive that when I was stopped at a light, the dashboard lights were flickering... not sure what this means in addition to everything else or what I should try replacing. :-(

Try going over all the positive and negative cables to make sure they're properly tightened and there's no corrosion. Some us went to Hyper-grounding which is just another way of saying we added extra ground wires from the battery to the computer and engine.
