Default code P 0304

Uh oh! Got my first check engine light on the PT.
According to the sticky, I've got a cylinder 4 misfire detected.
Can anyone shed some light on what that could mean?
Could it be an easy fix?
Am I ok to drive until fixed or should I park/tow it?

How is it driving? Rough, shaky idle, skipping at speed? If None of the Above, should be an easy fix.

Causes could be a bad gasket between upper and lower manifold, clogged injector, a small vacuum leak somewhere, a plug or plug wire going bad. Something bad would be internal and a compression check would be needed.

It's actually driving fine. I went about 30 miles to work with the light on.
A few days ago I was getting a little hesitation when cold, but nothing since.
It was unusually cold here, car hadn't been driven in four days and battery needed a jump.
Today it ran great though.
I've been "going to" do plugs and wires, just hoping for warm weather.
(New battery too)

So once I get this figured out, how do I reset the code?

Take off negative battery cable, and step on brake (to drain residual charge) - or take it to Advance Auto and have them reset codes with their reader.

You can do that before doing anything and see if code comes back - the code could have been a momentary hiccup.

That would be nice if it was just a hiccup!

Last night I stopped at the store on my way home from work.
When I started the car the check engine light was out!

I have a P0302 that comes and goes and car runs fine.
I plan to do plugs and wires when it gets warmer - you should, too...

I got that too. I had a leak from the valve cover gasket, and so I replaced that, I found oil in the spark plug, with the spark plug still in the block. So i replaced the coil wires and the plugs, cleaned it up as best i can.

But the funny thing is I only got the code after I replaced the valve cover, coil, wires, and the spark plugs. Now I get the p0304 code. lol. I wish i could figure out what it could be. I think I will pull the plug check it and then do an injector cleaner treatment and check the vaccum lines !!
