Default engine mounts

I am wondering if anyone has bought the 2 engine mounts that are on the timing belt side, upper and lower, from amazon and then switched over to 2 mounts from Chrysler, if there is any noticeable difference in the amount of vibration.
I bought 2 from amazon, and right away the car was vibrating like crazy, I aligned the engine according to specs, and the vibration did seem to ease a BIT, but after 4 months, I am thinking of spending some more money on a set from Chrysler, mind you, not knowing if there is any difference.

Any thoughts out there?

tnx...Rotty

The durometer of the rubber from the MOPAR mounts and most all aftermarket mounts is the pretty much universally the same.

There is a difference in an auto and manual lower mount. Could this be your issue?

How can you tell the difference between the 2 mounts?

further to my last reply, I went on the web and none of the jobber parts sites ask if you have an auto or standard.

I have an auto, a 2001, and just took for granted that the 2 parts were ok as they fitted.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll call Chrysler Parts and ask them, that would answer my problem if that were the case. My PT idled smoothly until I replace the mounts.

The part number for one and they look different. Somewhere on here is a picture when someone else was having issues.

I just looked at Rock auto's cat. and they show an upper mount for automatics.

I could see were a small size difference could make a difference. Thanks for the advice, when I get it sorted out, I'll post it so others will know.

First I heard of the upper being different. If it actually is. But will be watching for the answer.

Lightbulb Re: engine mounts

I will get the timing belt and water pump replaced in the 2005 Dream Cruiser this coming month before I make any more long trips. (93K)

But, I do have one little irritating mechanical problem, that I think might be a motor mount.
When I even press on the accelerator moderately, I get a little clink in the right front end.
I thought that it might be a CV joint or something.
Today I noticed that it does this same thing (a little less pronounced) when I am sitting still, and put it in gear.

Think this might be a motor mount?????
