Default PT Won't Start

Hey guys, got a Private Message from a guy named Mike who supposedly spent $3,000 trying to get his PT to start. His message is below. The only thing I can think of is that he might have got the timing off 180 degrees because he's practically replaced everything else. Any body got any other ideas?

Message Follows:

I am in severe distress with my pt!
HELP
Timing belt broke, replaced all belts, would not start.
Replaced crank, cam sensors would not start.
replaced coil and plugs would not start
complete valve job (in case I bent valve) would not start.
replaced PCM...Took it to dealer to reprogram...would not start. They wanted and additional 15 Hours for diagnostics.
Getting Spark, Plenty of fuel (Spark plugs wet)
Vacuum good.
It has all the components to start but all it does is turn over with not even a hint of fire. So 3K later my PT doesn't run. I am out of money and out of ideas.

Mike

I would recommend verifying the timing - even experienced guys can have it off by 180.

Ditto, but how mechanical is he? A compression gauge would tell if there is no compression. But I'm thinking best to go back in and do it again. And take pictures to verify that all is right before putting back together and to also start before putting covers and balancer back.

Agreed - and a compression test would confirm that timing is off (or, less likely, that valves got hosed).

My suggestion is to first have a second eye look at everything first. Sometime we become blind to an obvious thing because the brain tells us things are correct.

Why is this person not on this thread?

There are q&a that should be done directly to the person. We are not a diagnostic school in testing on the verbals of a hypothetical problem as a team?

I've had several people come directly to me (?) with questions and most of the time I direct them to the forum to get answers. This time I just posted it here and I answered him by giving him the link to this thread.
