Talking fault code P0195

Hi Everyone glad to join this forum , I own a 2002 2.2 diesel pt cruiser
it was stuck in lip home mode with ecu and black smoke poor revving up , I replace egr valve which has seemed to clear up smoking fault , I plugged in my scanner and it has fault code:

p0195 engine oil temperature sensor circuit malfunction

as you may know the diesel doesn't have a oil temp sensor fitted , !

any ideas ? what other part causes this code to come up or is the temp reading
read through the coolant temp sensor ?

please help im lost

Default Re: fault code P0195

I did a search of this forum for the P0195 code and the diesel PT. Since most here are from the US and Canada we only have experience with 2.4L gasoline engines in our PT Cruisers. The best advice I found was to go to the following forum and ask our British PT brother and sisters for a solution:

UK Cruiser Club :: Index

If you do find a solution, please come back here and let us know so we can help the next diesel PT owner with this issue.
