Default Lower engine mount revisited

OK, I had to wait until the snow cleared to crawl under my 01 Ltd. and I am glad I did.

I had a $24.00 Anchor lower engine mount that would not stop vibrating, kinda like driving a coffee grinder.

So, I got a mopar mount for $156.00 and compared the 2.

The dirty one is Anchor.

The distance of Mopar unit's holes were about 3/8 inch longer than Anchor's, and Mopars unit was notched. Also the diameter of the Anchor hole (front) was also slightly larger.

So after installing the Mopar unit, and setting it up, There is absolutely NO vibration whatsoever. No breaking in and the old 01 drives and idles like new.

I guess you do get what you pay for.

That's great info. I never even noticed the difference in these until you posted.

The Westar brand looks a lot better than the Anchor.

I've been looking at these Bwoody performance mounts, but I'm not sure about them:

Those BWoody PT Cruiser Motor Mounts look really neat, but with the lack of a good rubber disk, I wonder if they would vibrate to beat hell.

I had thought about getting a set, price seems good, but then I had tried to google a review of these mounts but I could not find one.

I don't know. Those are my concerns too.

Cool Re: Lower engine mount revisited

Yeah,I've been looking at these Competition Series Motor Mounts:
Massive Motor Engine Mounts Turbo Solid Upper Lower Set PT Cruiser 2 4 2 0 00 10 | eBay

They hold up exceptionally well; But,I have read several posts on the PT(and Neon)forums about excessive vibration with this style of motor mounts....Especially bad on PT Cruisers w/ATX.....So,IDK?

Rotty; notice the oval [read adjustable] slot in the small end of the stock style struts. This is important!
