Default Engine oil pan gasket

Hi guys,
I'm planning to replace oil pan gasket after the snow is gone.
Could you tell me why not to use permatex gasket maker instead of factory rubber gasket ? (which would cost around $60 )
I've used it before on the transmission pan with success. After almost 4 years there is no leak at all.
Thanks in advance, have a great day
