Default best intake

hey whats up guy's im getting ready to do another mod to my 2004 pt turbo light so ive been looking at upgrading my intake system but i have a few questions because depending of who you ask everybody has a different opinion on what they like but i want to know what is the consensus on what intake would work best so here is what ive been looking at
1. intake box mod
2. cold air intake ( hard pipe with cone filter )
3. just leave the stock system and drop a k&n filter
4. ive seen it done on other turbo cars don't know if it would work on the pt ( cone filter directly to the turbo )

please let me know what you guy's think would be the better mod all comment's welcome

This is not an opionon response.
No CAI improves the IATs on Turbo model PT Cruisers because of the design of the factory intake system.

A simple an inexpensive Ultrea Gauge and some simple observation testing will confirm my stated response.

So basically it is all about the looks and the sound of what you personally prefer?

Fixed that for ya Lynn!

A drop in is as good as anything. removing the trumpet is said to actually hurt airflow IDK. Like above the rest is about bling and sound not performance. No cold air for the turbo as the piping wraps around the motor to get to the intercooler. So no gains there.

Unless you're building your Cruiser to set a new record at the track, it's "best" to leave all the intake as is and just bump up the boost. Raising boost simply and effectively moves more air charge through the intake pieces that you already have. If the factory Cruiser intake system is compared to all others in the market, it is easily one of the least restrictive you are ever going to find. For some reason the intake is the first thing most often messed with even though chances are, you probably won't gain anything...... except for getting to know your engine compartment a little better, which is never a bad thing.
Messing with the intake is also one of the most popular topics with tons of threads and posts that are easy to find with a search. You will find all kinds of "butt dyno" reports and how-to's. Some of them may have a slight resemblance to truth, but most are pie-in-the-sky.

Before someone jumps in to "correct" me, I would like to add that the more you dial in more boost, the more you need to tune for that added boost. A couple of psi is probably safe but it's always best to check.
