Default Power steering leak . . .

My wife's '02 PT Cruiser recently began leaking a little power steering fluid on the garage floor. After removing the front left wheel and looking around, it appears the fluid is coming from the back of the steering gear. This car has 45,000 miles on it and I'm having a hard time believing the steering gear would be leaking. Looking at the manual, it appears that the front cross member has to be dropped to access the steering gear.[:0]

Welcome, Gonzowing.
IRPT covered you.
I was going to say I hope it's just a seal, but even then, to get at it,...

Just Had my steering gear replaced under warranty due to a small leak I noticed. The dealers was pleasant and fast.

Well we solved the problem with the steering gear leak. Went by the Chrysler dealer Monday and they had an inferno red Touring Edition on the lot with 7,200 miles, wife had a fit for it so we swapped the '02. This time I got the extended warranty. I know they wouldn't sell them if they didn't make money off of them, but what the heck, peace of mind is worth something. [8)]

Well, a little extreme, but that works! Gotta keep the lady happy, right? [?]
