Default Daytime running lights won't turn off!

Hi!
I had just installed a new stereo last night and now after that my daytime running lights turn on as soon as you turn the car on. I don't really use those lights at all so I know I turned them off. It isn't too big of a deal I'm just wondering what's going on now. It's a 2001 Touring Edition.
Thanks for any ideas!

Greetings Welcome to the forum.
Are you in Canada where day-time running lights are normal?
I am guessing not and that you are speaking of the two lights below the 'bumper'; the fog lights that are controlled by the headlight switch-stalk. These multi-function switches (MFS) do fail. If you do not want to use the lights, remove fuse #8 (15 amp) from the dash fuse block. This will cut the power to the lights and assure that they will not drain your battery.
Lots of info on the forum about the MFS. It is easy to replace.

sanatanadharma,
Thanks for replying so fast! I am talking about the yellow lights on the sides of my headlights they used to not come on automatically. My cluster also lights up automatically I forgot to add this. I don't have to turn my head lights on or anything they're already on when I turn my car on which isn't normal for my car either. If it's still the same as with fog lights then I will try taking the fuse out to see if that works. Thank you for the suggestion!

Don't think fuse is the same, but the switch on the stalk could still be your problem.

If by "yellow lights on the side of my headlights" you are talking about the park lights / blinkers, then I would think that pulling a fuse to get them to turn off would also disable your blinkers. But I could be wrong.
Since this started when you wired in a new stereo, that would be where i would look to first. I'm assuming you installed an aftermarket stereo, not a chrysler unit. Did you use an adapter harness to plug into the factory wiring or did you cut and splice the wiring? I would check where the wire for the stereo's illumination is connected to. It is usually orange w/ a white stripe. If the illumination wire is wired improperly on either the car or stereo side there is a possibility it is backfeeding the circuit for the dash lights/ park lights?
