Default Engine Mounts: Original or SRT4?

Hi all!

So my Cruiser has been shaking at idle for awhile, something I diagnosed as the engine mounts.
So I replaced the transmission mount, which was quite bad, but it kept shaking, and the engine moves quite a bit when engaging the transmission. Then I saw the other lower mounts were in worse shape. So now that I have to replace all the mounts, I started reading up on this forum and some people suggest going for SRT4 mounts.
I have a 2008 N/A, so I'm wondering if they fit and if it's worth the upgrade?

Like what's special about them, other than longevity.
I'd like the car to be smooth at idle and stuff, so any "performance" gain they might offer in trade for some shaking is not worth it to me, considering the gain will probably be unnoticeable.

Also, this is a repair that can be done, right? Cause I saw some stuff about A/C lines on some years. What's the '08 like, if any of you know?

Thanks.

-Leo

I was just about to comment on a similar issue. I have a PT Turbo and since I moved to Tennesse, I have been replacing engine mounts every year! Whether this is down to the incompetence of the garage or they are just using inferior parts, I don't know. They have completed other work for me and I've had no complaints.
I've heard from somewhere that the PT has in inherent problem with the mounts but having to change them every year seems excessive to say the least.
Can anyone recommend a heavy duty mount maybe or a solution to my woes? It has got to the point that I may even get rid of the car because I'm tired of the handling. This is my second Cruiser and I would be sad to see it go.
Thanks.

Hi Leo,
Do you have a "how to" inspect/replace the transmission engine mount? I have been Googleing this for hours but everything I find is related to the passenger side, GREAT info out there thanks to other members but nothing on the driver side.
Thanks

I have never replaced one, but to get to it I would start by removing the air box and battery.
