Last year I purchased and installed an Airaid Intake Quick-fit System for my N/A 07 Cruiser. Not sure if it helped with the horses but it did add a little more rumble along with the Gibson stainless exhaust. An easy and fun install.
AIRAID - QuickFit Cold Air Intake Systems - JCWhitney The Airaid intake tube is a 90 degrees with a 2 1/2" circumference at the throttle body and 3" at the intake box going to the filter. The black rubber intake tube is well made and comes with a hole for the IAT Sensor at the bottom of the elbow. I wanted to add a little more bling to the engine compartment so I decided to replace the Airaid hose with a Spectre Performance Chromed Intake Tube with 90 Degree Elbow and Collar. (part #8698) Spectre Performance Intake Tube with 90 Degree Elbow and Collar | Product Details | Pep Boys I had to drill a 1/2 inch hole at the elbow on the Spectre tube and added a rubber grommet which I trimmed off with a Stanley knife to fit. With a little patience, I was able to get the IAT Sensor back through the grommet nice and secure. ![]() The Spectre 90 degree elbow came up approximately 2" short where it attaches to the throttle body and the air-box. I purchased two Spectre Performance Intake Couplers 3" with 2 1/2" Insert (1 Blue and 1 Red). I was able to make up an inch on both sides of the tube by using the couplers for a perfect fit. The 2 1/2" insert was perfect for the throttle body circumference side of the hose. The insert is also removable so the coupler also matched 3" circumference Air-box side. Spectre Performance Intake Coupler - 3" with 2 1/2" Insert - Blue | Product Details | Pep Boys ![]() ![]() I'm hoping the red coupler will add a few more horses to the Cruiser ![]()

Note:
I also had to remove the chromed coupler on the 90 degree tube to make the proper alignment. Spectre Performance Intake Tube with 90 Degree Elbow and Collar | Product Details | Pep Boys

I prefer the smoother curve of the black pipe over the more abrupt angle of the chrome pipe. It's probably harmless, though, and not a big deal for your non-turbo. It looks like you have been having fun personalizing your Cruiser and that's the important thing.
