Default Squeek squeek squeek whilst turning

Today whilst driving my PT I was doing a 3 point turn and a squeak started whilst turning my wheel in both directions.
also happens whilst driving at speed

my steering also seems to have been affected but only at slower speeds

Im unsure whether this is due to worn bushings or something different

any advice would be appreciated

"my steering also seems to have been affected but only at slower speeds"

Affected how? Harder to turn?
Squeak present when stopped? If so, pop the bonnet and see if sound comes from power steering - you could need a new belt.

Well then, get thee a new power steering belt! It is loose and squealing and not driving the power steering pump well.

Hi all,

Upon driving this afternoon the squeak wasn't there until the temp when to normal operating temp.

So I pulled into a back lane to trouble shoot the sound isn't coming from the engine bay it is coming from the wheel area.

today I also topped up my power steering fluid as it seemed low that has fixed the sluggish steering

Your power steering pump is down by the wheel area. You most likely need a new belt. It is a serpentine that also drives your AC compressor. Even if its not the cause, it doesn't hurt and it is cheap and anyone can replace one themselves.

Can't see how it could come from wheels if squeak is there when you're stopped.
