Greetings fellow Cruisers!
OK, so the T belt in my 05 quit on the highway @ 70mph, I coasted off the roadway and like a dummy I cranked the engine over,..........nothing. So it's home in my shop and the engine is out and on the stand. I removed the valve cover and the timing belt cover and pulled out the old belt,....a clean break. I set the engine up at TDC on #1, made sure the cams were turned so the valves were in the closed position and put air to the cylinder, about 100 psi. There is a small bit of air coming out of the intake port and a lot out of the exaust port. I repeated the process for 2,3 and 4 and got basically the same results except on 3 where the leakage is on the intake side. Bent or burned or both ?????? I also got a rattle noise when I plugged the air into 3 and 4. What could that be ?? It's my first Cruiser engine repair. Thanks for any help. |

You need a need timing belt, water pump and tensioner pulleys.
doing a compression check without a belt doesn't provide useful information
