Default 2005 pt cruiser code 340,344 changed sensor 3 times

I have a 2005 pt cruise non turbo with 125,000 miles. In the last 2 months code 340 or 344 has came up I cleared the codes with my scanner runs fine the other day the wife limped it home. I changed the cam sensor bought at autozone immediate code. Took it back put the old sensor back in no problems. I drove to the dealership an bought another one same problem barely starts kicks out code. Put the old cam sensor in starts up no codes. Went and got a third camshaft sensor. Same thing hard start automatically kicks out 340 code again put old cam sensor in starts up and drives. All wires look good visually. Any thoughts.

You may need the magnet that the sensor reads...

I just read that somewhere. Weird how it runs with old one though and not the new ones.

Well I changed the magnet the crank sensor and the camshaft sensor. All from the dealer. Same problem as soon as I put the new camshaft sensor in kicks a code. Put the old camshaft sensor in no problem. The old one only kicks out the code intermediately where the news ones are right of the bat. I really running out of ideas wires are good just don't want the wife to get stuck.
