Default platinum plugs

Can anyone suggest a good set of platinum plugs for my 03 base PT? I've had a bad experience with platinum plugs in a different car before and am really skiddish on putting them in the PT. Has anyone had any problems putting these plugs in their PT's?

Far as I know, the only "approved" ones are the Champion platinums. I put them in with no problems. There are others that don't have a tapered seat - your money, but I wouldn't.
Only problem is the hassle of getting at the plugs - it's such a PITA, that I suggest replacing the wires at the same time (I got Crane's from RaceAndStreet) - I did it in two steps because plugs didn't cure a miss I had, it was the wires, so I removed intake manifold twice.[xx(]

3 "tips" - 1. Gap the plugs (0.050") the ones I had were off quite a bit right out of the box 2) Anti-seize on the plug threads. 3) Dielectric grease on inside & outside of plug "boots" that go into the head.

Champion Double Platinum, stock #7440, RE14PLP5

Use PTCruzr's spark plug change guide. Can find the link to the installation instructions in this post (with pictures):

Fit, yes, but I thought MX-5 recommended copper plugs for a turbo'd car, but can't find the post now....[xx(]

Quicksilver,

As often as use search is mention, I agree with you, sometimes it just don't happen. Therefore questions that have been ask before. But who cares, half the fun here is trying to help everyone. [?]
