Default 2006 pt cruiser 2.4 automatic getting good gas mileage.

Averaging 28.6 mpg. Replaced the top o2 sensor then put some higher grade gas in. This is the most I've ever seen out of a pt cruiser.

How are you measuring your MPG? Are you figuring it or going by the computer?

And over how many miles? If it isn't a couple thousand miles, the variation of fuel pump shutoffs makes mileage calculation far less than accurate.

So i am guessing from your last post that you are using the computer which is known to be very inaccurate. i would suggest doing a manual calculation and then see what you get.

Yup. Sam's is 3.28/gal today. I usually get about 18-20 around town and 24-27 on the road to Kansas City. Your average sounds about right to me.
