Default 2005 plastic intake manifold cover

will leaving it off be safe, and possibly keep things running cooler, just seems that it might hold a lot of heat under that cover , and that's the intake manifold, id like to hear some thoughts on leaving off, I have a 2005 pt gt turbo..with the plastic manifold setup, thanks guys as usual!!!

Of course it's safe left off - the factory stopped putting them on!
There is some insulation under the cover, but the cover is for looks.

I would recommend you see what paint shops are in your area, check them out at BBB.org to see what their rating & record is,and don't totally discount them just for having some complaints(remember some people will always complain!),mainly see how good(or bad) their record of resolution is.......Then when you have narrowed it down to say 2,or 3 of the best ones, take your car to them in person so they can see,and give you a proper estimate;I be wary of ones that would 'willy-nilly' give you an over-the-phone estimate.
I will tell you one thing,if going with an entire color-change,you will be paying more for that process, than if you stick with the original stock color;Mainly because it takes more work & prep to do the door jambs, hood, liftgate, etc.
Some may opt for just an exterior color-change,but when you open the doors it will look odd(maybe that's just me though!)

that's why black on black will look awesome, this cannot happen till next year if things get better financially i'm just trying to gauge if anyone painted a one color pearl or metallic please chime in what you paid, is it 1k 2k 3k 4k? i really have no idea, it might be staying red, lol, i love the red, but the paint is chaffing in to many areas real bummer, cause i really do love the color, but if i'm going to pay for a full paint joB, mines of well be new so its like a new car, oh wait it is new? not even 2 months HAHAHAHAHA
