Default how long does the fuel pump last?

I have a 2003 Pt Cruiser 2.4 original with 102,973 miles and I was curious on how long can the fuel pump last? I have never let the car run below 1/4 of fuel ever in its life its always either on half or full tank. can it maybe last till 200k miles or more?

Basically because of the design low amp draw and how it is lubricated as long as water is not introduced in the system and you don't run on lower limits that can partially expose the pump to air it could last 15+years 200k miles or more.

No one can predict when and if any part may fail. I might suggest that you check the condition of your battery and the cables. A problem with getting a good power supply can effect the reliability of any electrical component. Fuel pumps like most electrical motors like a good supply of amps!

I replace the battery every 3 years and the cables at the same time, I know I spend alot for both but its worth it

mine failed at 234k. -but i don't know what the previous owners habits were with keeping a decent level in the tank. i do know that i have no record of a fuel pump being replaced in the service records. the shop that always fixed the car has a whole folder on it.

The time or amount spent is not an indicator of condition.

well thanks for the quick answering, I was curious because usually that's the first thing that fails in the fuel system when reaching past 100k miles
