Default Ignition switch?!?!

I don't own a Cruiser but I'm trying to help my sister out. She has a 2006 non Turbo, that didn't want to start but all lights turn on just fine. Battery is good, had the starter test and it's good too, but what I did find out was that if I turn the key forward and back a couple of times quickly the car WILL TURN ON. This leads me to believe that it can be the switch itself. I've looked all over the net and can't find anything that answers my question so I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Everything and anything will be greatly appreciated.

Possibly, but I would suspect the battery cable. Mine did the same thing and despite all the grounds being very clean, mine acted like yours. I did replace the ignition switch since it was cheap and an easy install, but it didn't work. Replace the cables.

if she is still paying for the car ask her if she has made any recent payments and if she says she is late on one, better hide the car because the repo is coming to getcha lol

Probably just a bad actuator pin

I cleaned the battery posts good, and put new terminals also but did not try the entire cables. Since you said that you did swap out the switch I'm curious about something else. Hers has the transponder key, when you replaced it were you able to install any switch or did you also have to buy the keys and have it programmed?

I took the starter out and had an auto parts store test it, I saw it start up fine, did the test 3x. I did not check the relay, where exactly is it located? Since my brother in law is the manager to the parts store I have no problem trying things out and returning them if it's not the problem lol

usually located in the PDC ( power Distribution Center) and that box is located behind the air box

I cant remember which relay is it but in the PDC cover it should tell you the relay location all you have to do is swap the starter relay with the horn relay and if the starter relay is bad your starter will now work but the horn will not xD

Lightbulb Re: Ignition switch?!?!

Your problem lies in the ignition cylinder, ignition switch actuator pin,or the ignition switch........If I was in Vegas,I'd put my money on the ignition switch actuator pin(fairly common problem);I'm basing that on the way you describe it working by quote: 'if I turn the key forward and back a couple of times quickly the car WILL TURN ON.'
There's probably still enough of the actuator pin left to allow it to work like that sometimes, but it is just a matter of time before even that trick won't work anymore.
The actuator isn't all that expensive($30-$35 +/-),and it's a really,really easy fix(as the video I posted shows!)
