Cool Re: No horn lock confirmation?

Sounds like you may need to replace the horn relay......You can check it by swaping another relay and try honking the horn by hand or with the remote

Question Re: No horn lock confirmation?

This is an all factory alarm/anti-theft system correct?......Not aftermarket?

Post Re: No horn lock confirmation?

If yours is a factory system,it sounds like you may have inadvertantly disabled the horn feature, which sounds every time you lock & arm(or unlock & disarm) a vehicle equipped with the sentry system.
The horn chirp that signals that the doors have been locked/unlocked can be activated or deactivated by using the following procedure:

1. Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn the switch to the ON position.

2. Press and hold the Unlock button on the transmitter for between four and ten seconds.

3. Continue to hold the Unlock button and press the Lock button.

4. Release both buttons. A chime will sound to signify that the process is complete.

Try that and see if that corrects your issue.........

Cool Re: No horn lock confirmation?

Did you just try the sequence once?.....I mean it was kind of a slim chance that you would have accidentally entered the 'stealth mode',but it definately was worth the shot.

Cool Re: No horn lock confirmation?

Another long shot....But you can try disconnecting the battery for about 10 mins, step on the brake to dissipate any residual charge, then re-connect the battery, and see if that clears the issue.
If that doesn't work it could be an issue with the RKE,which sends the signal thru the sentry alarm,to honk the horn when using the key fob remote.
The RKE on the PT Cruiser is located in the top center of the dash, and is subjected to the same temperature extremes as the dashboard, especially the heat of Summertime, year after year.........RKE failure is somewhat common, especially the older the RKE gets, and depending on the amount of heat.
Heat & electronics don't go together very well, and just think about how hot a dash can get sometimes.
