Default Confused About Jack Points / Stand Location - Please Help

I need help finding out exactly where the front jack / stand points are for my 2005 N/A Cruiser.

It seems that there are lots of different posts on this and that they all say different things.

I need access to the Power Steering hose (at the very least so I can tell whether it is leaking or whether the power steering motor is leaking).

I will be using the included scissor jack to lift and I have a couple of stands.

1) Is the "groove" in the scissor jack supposed to have the VERTICAL piece that is two sheets thick go into the groove (right behind the front wheel well)?

2) There seems to be two pieces of sheet metal and the INNER piece seems to be bent inwards (meaning that the two pieces of sheet metal are NOT flush back to back). Is that normal? (the outer piece of vertical sheet metal is straight - but the inner pieces seems bent inwards a bit).

Please be as clear as possible. For instance, I have read some people say, "put the jack under the frame rails," but I have no idea where and what the frame rails are.

Thanks in advance. I don't have the money to take it to a shop right now.

If you look under the car, you will find a flat spot with a triangle cut into it. That is the jack point. Check out this thread for specifics and pictures. 2006 Jack point Confirmation - front

I have never used the included scissor jack, I use a floor jack at these locations.

Are you saying to put the floor jack ON THE TRIANGLE in this photo???

If I do that, where would I put the stand?

I don't think my stand is flat. I think that it is more cupped, kind of like these:

So can I used these jack stands on that triangle spot???

That is a hoist point, and I believe others have put stands there. I jack it up there.

i put them farther back, right above the 'N' in the word 'location'. i'd be afraid they could slide by that triangle.

i've also (and usually) put them under the black steel subframe by the rear control arm bolt.

just put them where common sense says it's safe. shake the car hard before you get under it to make sure it's safe.

Would I be trying to do this myself if I had ANY common sense???

So just to restate the obvious, it is safe to use my stands (with the curved tops to them) in that location, right? I don't need a flat / even top to my stands, right?

My Dreamer has been on curved top stands for about 2 months now I guess. I put the stands under the pinchweld just aft of the wheel pocket. Jack it up just back of that. Pinchweld is the vertical sheet metal standing just under the rockers.

Thanks for the note.

I am a bit confused / worried about that.

I think I know the area which you are referring. It is like TWO pieces of sheet steel flush to one another, hanging down vertically, right?

My rpoblem is that it seems like ONE of those sheet pieces of steel hangs straight down (the one facing outward from the car), while the inner piece is not straight and not flush against outer piece. It is kind of warped.

Are BOTH pieces supposed to be flat and flush against one another? Or am I expecting too much?
