Default Possible cylinder misfire and general rough Idling cause

I have been trying to figure out why my 05 na idles rough and is sluggish to throttle input when its cold. I was checking the oil level today and saw Oil around the filler. Pulled #4 plug wire ( left one when you are facing the car) and the entire plug well was full of oil. car does not burn oil - so it had to be oil spilt during oil changes. Anyway, removed the intake and cleaned out all the wells and plug wires. #4,3 were full of oil #2,1 had a little in it.

Now she purrs like a kitten and got some zoom zoom back. The rough idle is gone as well.

Maybe something everyone should check once in a while.

There are rubber seals in the valve cover for the spark plug "wells" and they go bad, letting oil from under valve cover enter the plug wells.

Yup saw those. My wires are new, less than a year old. Seems like they were not seated well when it was done. Had a shop do it

I believe the rubber seals that he is speaking of have nothing to do with your new wires. They are a separate component. Let us know what you find out.

Ahhhh. I understand now. is there an easy way to check for that - other then seeing it the wells fill back up between oil changes ?
