Default replaced rad....now low speed fan won't come on

The A/C DOES come on and get cold though. I thought there was a system that kept the A/C from coming on without the fan? So I checked the relay ( swapped a couple others) and no fan. The main fuse is ok...fan still kicks on High when the car gets to temp. So are problems with fan plug common? When I had it apart while changing the Rad. it looked fine...at least from what I could see.

It's usually the low speed part of the fan (that's the one that comes on when my A/C is turned on) that burns out. The fan plug itself isn't a common problem but we have heard of owners having to re-wire or work-around that plug because of a melted plug.

Without taking it all apart, if you can get behind the radiator and pull the electrical connection apart, you'll see the 3-pin connection going to the fan. Center (black) connection is ground, one side (yellow) to high speed and other side (dark green) is for the low speed. If your able to touch the the center pin with a ground wire and the Dark Green pin with 12 volts, the low speed fan should come on.

The works only if you have an 01-05 Non-turbo cruiser.

Do you know for sure it was coming on before you replaced radiator?
If radiator needed replacing, fan was probably on a LOT.

I think my fan may be wired backwards than yours because when I turn on my A/C it's always the high speed that comes on. Does it make any difference either way?

Probably not, as long as the fan comes on to keep everything cool I wouldn't think it matters. We had a discussion on the forum awhile back and it seems that some had the high speed come on, others had the low. I don't know why there's a difference. Mine might be the one that's wired backwards but everything keeps cool and I never over heat after I originally changed the fan years ago.

When you turn on the AC the Hi speed fan comes on as you stated , thats what is suppost to hapen. You possibly could over heat if you don't have the AC on and the low speed is not working.
