Default Oil on Spark Plugs

My 01 Cruiser has oil on the threads of 3 out of 4 of its plugs. What could be the cause?

The cause is probably the seals on the spark plug holes. Easy to replace but also change the valve cover gasket at the same time.

I am doing that now. My motor has 187,000 miles on it and I ran Mobil 1 5W-20 EP for most of its life. This year I switched to Mobil 1 0W-40.

It gets changed just once each year. Yet once the valve cover was off I found it to be as clean as a whistle, not a hint of sludge. The cams show little wear.

Once Rockauto delivers the new gasket I will put it all back together.
