Default Knocking sound on driver side

Every time car hits a pothole, I hear this knocking sound coming from the driver side front tire, so strong that you can feel it all the way to the steering wheel.....lifted the front wheel tire with a jack this morning to inspect it but can't see any loose end....CVT and steering column seem fine & intact.....no effect on accelaration or normal runs on flats....btw, brake rotor was replaced a month ago.....any ideas?

I would guess its the bottom ball joint in the Lower Control Arm, but there are different points that make noise in the PT Cruiser suspension.
Upper bearing mount, Bushings in the Lower Control arm, sway bar bushings and mounting points to the lower control arm.

I left these two for last because if worn enough can cause you to loose control if either pop out of their socket. Please have them checked for safety sake.
Tyrod, Botom Ball joint, inner tyrod

You can probably search Youtube and find a video on how to check each one

Tyrod, Botom Ball joint,
I agree. I think Lower control arm bushings are the first to go.

Turned out that it was just the left sway bar rubber bushing....it not just worn out, it's totally gone thus the clunking sound of metal to metal contact every time left tire hits a pothole......my trusty Viet shop replaced both L & R bushings for a measly $60 labor inclusive....
