Default Oilpresure light

Hi guys,
i am new in the Forum coze the European Forum is ..........!
Alright here is my quition . 1,6 l Touring 2002 Model.
Till the complete Oilrefilling / change with Filter) my Oilpresure lamo make " BIINNGG" when the RPM comes under 2000. When the engine is cold the Oil is thikker than its a while from 2500 RPM. Changed 3 the Filter from BMW and MINi and nothing helped so far. How can i check if my Oilpresurepump is not working propper??

NEED HELP.

Jorg, welcome to the forum.

Not sure about your 1.6 engine because we only have the 2.4 gas engine here in the U.S. but if you have an oil pressure sensor somewhere on your engine, you can take it out and replace it with a gauge to check your oil pressure to see if it's the correct pressure. Ours is locatedin the back of the engine.

thx. for quick reply. I changed the complett Oilsensor. Didn't helped.
But this engine is aswell in Mini 1,6 and BMW 116i. Many of them has the same Problems and noone says how. Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Anyway nice to here from you guys. Sorry for gramma.

Did you replace the oil pressure sending unit with one from the dealer? I have had to replace mine in a 2003 GT twice so far, and if you bought it from an autoparts store it may not work right. I also wrapped the sensor in a foil insulator as it was close to the exhaust manifold heat. Many PT owners have had problems with aftermarket sensors.
