Default Which relay is which on fan?

Ok I've got what seems a common enough problem here on the forums. A/C is building too much pressure and venting freon. Only happens when I'm sitting still. Pressure builds up, pulls rpms down then recycles and starts over until it eventually pulls down and vents freon. It may be the brushes burnt out on the fan which seems to be the most common problem, however I'd like to check that the high speed fan relay is functioning. I've already had to replace one of the relays a couple of years ago because the car was overheating. I am assuming it was the low speed relay. Anyways, when you turn the ac on, the fan comes on. I assume this is low speed. However I've yet to hear it go any faster. The engine never offers to overheat so I assume the low speed is doing its job well enough to prevent high from kicking in. So, before spending about 160 on a new fan, I'd like to replace the much cheaper relay and see if that works. I've got an 08 N/A with, as I said, two fan relays mounted on the fan shroud. Which one is which? Anything else I should check before moving to a new fan? I've got a test light but no multimeter to check voltages. Thanks for the help.

I've read where on the 2nd generation cruisers, both relays were the same. One for the high speed one for the low.

This guy says the same thing...

Ok I changed the relay I think is the high side. I don't hear any difference in fan speed but then I'm not sure what I'm listening for.

Big difference in wind noise between the low and high speed fan. Low side can't be heard above the engine running, high side is way louder than the engine noise. If you can hear the fan, that's the high speed.

I'm heading the same fan noise as before. Its not loud at all but I can hear that the fan is on from outside the car with the hood down. Which wire should light up if power is leaving the relay going to the fan? I can put my test light on it. Also which is hot going into the relay. I can track it down.

I don't have the schematics for the 2nd generation to answer your question. Hopefully someone will come along to help you.

My 2006 doesn't have the relays on the shroud...
I also believe those that do have a 4 pin plug, those that don't have a 3 pin plug.

Are you sure? 06 is when they came out with the Canbus system. The TIPM controls that system and it took the place of the regular fuse box. There is no space in the TIPM for relays for the fan.

Your right, I've never seen them on my shroud...cause they weren't...they were lying on the A/C compressor.
