Question HELP! Replace Motor Mounts 2003 Base model

PT Forum,

I could use some help with replacing all of the motor mounts on my brides 2003 PT Cruiser base model with standard transmission.

Please advise on how to replace all motor mounts and what parts manufacture you recommend. Plus maybe where you would purchase.

If I understand correctly there is four motor mounts. Two "torque struts" and a right and left main motor mounts.

The reason why I am asking is because our local oil & lube pointed out that the upper torque strut was s shot.... no worky worky... and to replace all four would be a cool $1000.

I don't have $1000. for motor mounts but I do have skills. Plus hopefully some friends here.

I have not inspected the remaining mounts.

Any advice would be appreciated.

thank you my PT Cruiser forum in advance.

Most likely you only need to worry with the upper and lower torque struts. The proper setup procedure is a must. It's not rocket science. Probably show this in the video posted. I'll look and post back if not. eBay or Rockauto should get you the best price. $40 for the pare should be a good average.

While the mechanical steps to actually change the lower mount are functional in the Video. The set up procedure was left out intirelly. Top was probobly bad as well. Anyway you leave the bottom loose and loosen the top and jacking on the front edge of the oil pan (with a wooden block) to tilt the motor to the rear until you get the 3.7" or 119mm adjustment and tighten everything down. This should minize vibration and premature failure of the mounts
