Default multiple codes

Hello, My 03 GT has given me a bunch of codes. It died on my wife and she pulled over and used the key dance to get codes P0480, p0622, P0031 andP0037. She was able to get it to restart and drove it home. The next day I tried to restart it and couldn't get it to stay running but it would sometimes just crank or would start and run rough, or sometimes it would start and idle normal but die in a minute or two. I cleared the codes by unhooking the battery and got it started it ran for a minute and died, and I then pulled multiple misfire codes along with a P1604. I have since cleared the codes again and only the original four codes come back. Any help on where to start would be appreciated.

In this situation you really need to use the Diagnostic OBDII port to retrieve and clear the DTC's. Than you can re-start the engine and see current PCM information. The key dance is NOT the best way to access the pending DTC files for viewing.
Other wise every member is going to have multiple and probably different opinion on what your problem is and the cure.

I do not know which model they use but most any Diagnostic scan tool should be good to view and clear the DTC to start fresh?
The PCM would normally clear any after a day driving or 1-3 complete engine cycles. But use the scan tool speeds up the process to view active uncorrected DTCs.

This is my method to diagnosis DTC related issues.

1. will scan the Diagnostic port and note the DTC(s)
2. will enter the readiness file and see what are negative area's.
3. will clear all pending codes.
4. will re-set the readiness file.

I will than need to re-start the engine and run to operating temperature or aprox. 190F coolant temperature.

Re check for DTC.
If the vehicle is drivable and the condition in my judgement cannot be further harmed by a short drive of about 15 -20 minutes to re-set the readiness file.

After the cycling and or drive I will than repeat the first steps and than with that CLEAN information procedure to test the area's DTC related.

Is it possible to plug in another ECU and test the car to see is the original ECU is the problem? can this be done without having the replacement ECU Vin and mileage programed first?
