Unhappy Major Tyre wear plus mounting rubber split

Hello all,

My first post here on the forum. Used it many a time fixing my other half's 2003 PT mind you!

I am hoping some helpful soul will be able to steer me in the right direction for an issue I have found.

I initial went under the car to look at the HO2S as she's getting a MIL light (P0038), however that was put on the back-burner when I spotted some major wear to the OSF tyre:

So...I delved a little further and spotted this:

A bigger overview pic:

So....my question is this....could that split rubber have this major impact on the inner tyre or is it simply the Tracking is out? Just to note, I did get the garage to sort out the track rod end a few months ago while I was away on business.

Any thoughts? Any advice would be appreciated

Looks like your in need of a new ball joint and a bad ball joint affects camber adjustments and it will wear the inner or outer edges of the tires.
