Default Need more help! 6 O2 sensor and 2 PCM still the same issue.

I have a 2005 Turbo PT Cruiser convertible engine VIN “E” it first start to display DTC P0031 and P0037. Changed with Bosch O2 Sensors problem remains. Tested the ground circuit at the main harness have continuity. Tested pins 2,3 and 4 to ground no short. Replaced the PCM, reprogrammed with my VIN and mileage. As soon as the engine start up same P0031 and P0037. Replace the O2 sensor again with Bosch, same issue.

I then took it to the dealer and they told me that I had a bad PCM. So I RMA the PCM and now the second PCM is giving me P0032 and P0038. I been researching all the forums site and everyone have been saying to use the OEM sensor so I replaced both of the sensor with the OEM O2 sensor and I’m still getting the same code from Hell P0032 and P0038. So the bottom line, I ran out of idea after 6 O2 sensor and 2 PCM. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks you!

I replaced my O2 Sensor last month with a Bosch & the code & CEL never went out...I started reading around & found some PT's don't like Bosch...I replaced it again with an NTK than all lights & codes disappeared.

last time i had an o2 code, it was in my mustang. the problem was a cracked emissions solenoid causing the car to inject too much air from the smog pump. you can't just throw parts at problems like this. you'll never fix it like that.

based on the fact that it says high voltage, not lean/rich etc, i would check the ground wire on the o2 harness for continuity.

you can check with a multimeter, there is plenty of o2 diagnostic aids for this online. if you are not up to the task, it would be cheaper to have a mechanic do it than to keep throwing parts at it.

Thanks, rob342.

I already tested the ground circuit at the main harness which is on pin 1 and it have continuity. Tested pins 2,3 and 4 to ground no short.

I also did this to see if it was a short to ground: I use a test light with the clip end I attached it to the positive side of the battery and with all 4 connection on the PCM disconnected. I tested the 4 pins in the engine harness. Pin #1 would light the test light which is correct since pin #1 is the ground pin, so I did pin #2, #3 and #4 and the test light doesn't light up. This tell me that the other 3 wires are not short to ground. I might be wrong with this test.

rob342, I see that you use ALL DATA. I to have access to All Data. I try to follow the troubleshooting step but I couldn't do the second test which call for DRBII to actuate the O2 heater circuit and check the voltage. I would think that the dealer would have done that when I took the car to them. Instead the dealer told me that I have a bad PCM.

when you measure pin 3 is the voltage over 1v?

can you measure pins 3 & 4, using pin 1 as a ground?
