Default another adventure with the pt :)

Well I just had my coolant leak/overheating issue taken care of. Needed a head gasket to the tune of $1000. Had them replace the engine mounts, and new spark plug wires along with a few coolant lines and vacuum hoses to not too bad I guess. Buttttttt. Now when I turn my car on I can remove the key when it is in the on position and the car still runs. Def. not having luck with the car but I love it lol.

bad lock cylinder, Happened to me in my 03 Grand Cherokee laredo and someone nearly stole my jeep because of it as you could turn the key with just a screwdriver because the cylinder wouldn't lock

I hope you had the timing belt & water pump replaced also since they had to remove them to work on the head.

you should feel lucky you have one of the few PT's with no chip in the key, which is less potential future problems.

when i got my PT i purposely yanked the key out with the car running. now i can let it warm up in winter without leaving the key in the car.

the PT will still lock. i can't turn mine with a screwdriver.

these would be easy to steal anyways though. yank the plastic trim off the column, break the wimpy little actuator, turn the ignition switch. it would take me less than 30 seconds.

Luckily, a 2001 PT Cruiser is not worth that much effort to most thieves.

If I was a thief I would take any cruiser because to me any cruiser is worth about as much as my life
