Default Upper and lower Torque Struts help needed

I got new upper and lower Torque Struts from the dealer. When I look at the both struts I see that three sides of the rubber fittings are solid but the fourth side in both struts have a gap in it. Anyone know why its not solid like the other three sides? Solid at 1 oclock, 5 oclock, and 9 oclock but at 3 oclock there is a gap as if when the other three sides break than the fourth one keeps it the engine from hitting the firewall. If it was me I would have all sides solid unless there is too much vibration? Anyone have another reason why?
