Default Am i ok not fixing the evaporator core?

I don't really care about the a/c all that much. Especially now that winter is on its way. Is there any risk of further damage if I don't fix it? I would guess not but not 100% sure.2008 PT

You will need to replace the drier wit it. Other than that. Probably not.

Maybe its the Condensing fan thats not running and the AC is not cooling or did you have confirmation the evap is leaking.

If you have a leak, the compressor will not run because of low pressure , the down side is the defroster may not work good enough with out the AC.

You will cause no other damage by not repairing, its just like not running the AC and defrost even if it works.

I went for a recharge of the system. 2 days later I noticed the green liquid on the driveway and smell out of the vent. Then service center confirmed it.

The evaporator usually just leaks freon and maybe some AC lubrication oil.

I hate to break the news but if it is green, I'd bet that you heater core is leaking if your smelling it out of the vent. Is your antifreeze green?

Your interior windows will steam up if its the heater leaking. OR it could be the water pump, how many miles on the car?

If its coming out of the AC drain tube from the interior of the car you have to by pass it or fix it because it will drain the engine coolant if it continues to leak.

The green was the dye mix with the freon. The coolant is the Orange stuff. It is leaking from the drain tube underneath.
