Default Front Windows 2002 PT

Good Evening all,

I seem to be having troubles with my front windows on my 2002 PT Cruiser LE. The one with the 5 way window switch. The rear windows let down and up perfectly. The fronts are a different story. The front windows will go up, or attempt to, with the button is pressed up. You can hear the motor attempt to engage, and the lights grow dimmer like it's pulling electricity from system. Since the windows are already up, it doesn't actually do anything physically. However, when trying to make the windows go down, both manually and auto, nothing happens at all. No electric drain, no engaged motor, nothing; like I haven't pushed the button at all.

Now, I bought a three way switch with two settings, inputs are power, ground, power, and wired it into the window wiring system for the front left window. Using Light Blue as first power, White as second power, and black (also tried tan) as ground. When throwing the switch nothing happens either way.

My questions are these. Is it possible that something is wrong in my electrical system to cause both front windows to not let down, either manually or auto; and if yes, how would I go about fixing it?
And, is it possible someone could give me a diagram, or picture, of how to correctly wire in a separate switch for each of the front windows, thereby bypassing a possibly faulty master switch?

I have another 5 way switch on the way from eBay, in good condition with a warranty; I just want to know what's mechanically wrong with the windows, and if it is electrically possible to wire in a separate switch (cause I might want to do some awesome modifications later on, :P).

Also, a diagram of the master switch's electrical diagram would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Also, I did try cleaning the contacts, rockers, and all other parts of the switch first, to make sure the connections were ok, it didn't help (but that thing was disgusting).

From my experience with other power windows, it could be the switch. I had an eclipse with PW, master control would put it down, but not up. I could use that side's switch and went up fine. So I would say try the new switch first since you already ordered it.

Did both front windows start having trouble working at the same time or did one of the front widows start giving you trouble first?

Either switch, or the arm that raises and lowers the windows is sticking at the joint. If there isnt enough grease or it has dried up it will take 2x power to lift them up........but the weight of the glass itself wont be enough to assist them in going down, I would advise removing the door panel and checking the grease levels in there before spending any money.

Try spraying along the rubber seals on side and bottom of window with silicone spray - it'll dry with no sticky residue and will reduce friction - and can't hurt.
