Default screaming demon coil new gap?

about time to change the plugs finally .. I think it was advised to change my new gap to .060... anyone see any problems arising from this?? I was thinking that Chrysler recommended actually lowering the gap.. think its like .040...I am guessing the gap is now .050 on the new double platinum plugs champions...so maybe leave them alone??? 2004 pt 2.4 base model.....screaming demon coil...when I go get a new torque wrench I will get new gap tool as mine have all disappeared ...lol...my other torque wrench is missing and mine don't go below 80 ft lbs...

The transformer you are using ( screaming demon) has the same output as a stock MOPAR unit.

On a single ground spark plug for a Turbo it is better to use .035-.042 gap conservatively.

It is not necessary to use a torque wrench on a 2.4 Chrysler engine regarding the spark plugs and perhaps better to use the securing/torquing recommendation by the spark plug manufacture which is usually indicated on the spark plug retail box.

Never over torque and it is advisable to use anti-seize on the the spark plug threads.

When removing the spark plug ignition leads care should be taken not to damage the the internals of the wires core. Use the ignition wires boot to hold and with a twisting and pull action to remove them from the transformer or spark plug tube and spark plug.

non turbo 2004 pt base model..box has no torque ,only 1/2 turn with gasket,,without1/16....champion 7570...I have never used a torque wrench before doing a tuneup for the plugs ..but all my experience is with vclassic cars...I read the thread here and they recommend 13ftlbs torque.....hmmmmm and really??? the demon isn't a better unit then stock then..thought it was more powerfull when I was buying it...ooh well the old unit is a backup then......thanks

i bet you'll be OK. mine ran fine with these. literally no noticeable change in performance or idle quality, and no measurable increase in MPG with new ones gapped right. hell the second one was only half way screwed in.

just throwing it out there for a less educated response.

WARNING

THE CHAMPION 7570 IS FOR 1/16 TURN AT THE SNUG OR HAND TIGHT POSITION

you all can read better in Poway I think?

Chrysler PT Cruiser engines 1.6, 2.0 and 2.4 all have tapered seat spark plugs.
This means no spark plug washer unless you are performance indexing.

New plugs less than 100 miles and than one night, 3 passes with a 75 shot.

Why it is fine. If it has not given you trouble than don't create something by mistake. IMHO Leave it!

Aftermarket Coils either get bad rap or to much HYP. Unless you read the specification than you are at the mercy of forum members BS and retail sales ads.
