Just ordered a PCM/ECU from All Computer Resources, Inc via ebay. Ordered thru them because of the good things said on this site.

If they have already programed in your PT's VIN, you should be good to go. If not, you will be at the mercy of your local Chrysler dealership to program it for you for whatever fee they decide to charge.

Other than that, be sure to disconnect your battery before installation. Your PCM should come with some simple instructions, but that's basically it. If the VIN is already programed, it's plug and play. Also, it may be a little hard to start the first time. But after it has started and you have driven it to retrain the transmission, everything should go back to normal.

I gave them my VIN for programming. Good to know about the hard to start and tranny retraining. That would have made me wonder if i had done something wrong. Will post results when it gets in. Thanks

Got my PCM from another Co and it was pre-programed, Started right up, drove it away, I didn't notice anything execpt slow speed shifting may have been a little off but even that that was hard to detect.

Only thing I noticed doing mine was it fix things I hadn't yet noticed or realized. Smooth as silk. Didn't like spending the money. But it's always better when you do. That it fixed the problem.

Great thing about this board is the info you can get just be reading other posts. Just put in a TPS and CPS because im approaching 150Kmiles. Im replacing the PCM because i keep getting low voltage on the O2 sensors and hesitation on initial startup. Seems like that the PCU is not sending out enough juice all the time esp at startup. Battery checked out fine.

OK then - swapped out the ECU. Good news. The persistent codes for O2 sensors are finally out. Car runs smoother and feels like it has more power.

bad news - A whole slew of new codes/ 645, 481, 443, 499, 622 and the battery light is on. Also, AC don't blow cold anymore.

Put the old one back in - Just like before wit nice cold AC, O2 sensor codes back on and rough idle. I guess i got a bad ECU

You might just get a refund and then try Auto Computer Exchange. They do hot and cold testing on their PCM's and then provide a lifetime warranty. Here's the thread that describes my experience:

A.C.E is what I used. Going to give the new ECU a couple of days and a few 100 miles to settle in and see if it clears the codes. Had the battery and charging system checked and its good. Will update as I see any changes
