Default hot weather

Ok here goes, live in Ca. car runs perfect until summer, when temp gets over 90, car does a herky jerky ck engine light comes on but sets no code, next morning while its cool out, drive 5 miles ck engine light goes off, temp goes up same thing, all winter car drives fine, I have a hunch its TPS, I hate throwing parts at a car 1) you dont learn anything 2) not cheap. Any help is appreciated

When did you last replace plugs & wires? Resistance goes up with temperature...
They are a normal maintenance item and I would NOT consider them "throwing parts".

How did you check the codes? It sounds like the camshaft position sensor. When mine went bad the light would come on but when you did the key dance nothing showed up. I could only get the code when I used my code scanner.

Need more info on your car..year & model...
But, from what you posted...sounds like the fan...JMO
