Question 2005 Pt Turbo Conv.

I love my PT. The other day I was getting on the highway and my check engine light came on. The car didn't want to accelerate up to the highway speed. Had it checked and the code was P2074. Changed the MAP sensor and it is still on throwing that same code.. Any help would be great. I cant stand having that light on..

The problem with posting "what the code" (which anyone can find on the internet) is that you eliminate the need to perform "proper" use of a Diagnostic scanning tool in the OBDII Diagnostic port.

Anyone can post what the definition of the codes are but you need to go beyond what the displayed DTC is and actually do some Diagnostic testing.

This is a big reason why the key dance is not very useful along with simply just having a DTC cleared. It does not correct the condition that caused the DTC and in most case like this thread reported the DTC returns.

It runs fine it just don't accelerate like it did. And if I give it a lot of gas its like it jerks. And when I am going highway speed and I let off the gas there is a nice jerk there as well

You do not test accessing the OBDII diagnostic connector you use it to help diagnosis PCM control engine issues.

Apparently it appears that all you had done was scan for DTCs and clear them nothing more?

Yes it is still hesitating. I am a female and I have been around cars all my life. I have changed transmissions, brakes and even valce cover gasket. But this is my first PT and turbo car. I just dont know all the technical stuff. Just figured I'd ask you guys.
