bought new scan tool, ABS communication trouble

Default bought new scan tool, ABS communication trouble

Bought the Cen-Tech 60794 per someone's recommendation on here so I could diagnose problems I'm having with the ABS system. It fails to connect to the ABS system. Has anyone on here had this problem

Are you OBDII or CANbus?

If your PT is pre 06 it is OBDII in which case there should be no issue communicating with the Scan tool. You may need to contact the tech number in your instruction manual and talk with a Cen-Tech rep because you may have a faulty unit. Make sure if you talk to them that note the name of the tech you talk to. Harbor freight is careful about diagnostic tools being returned or exchanged.

If your PT is 06 and newer than it is CANbus in which I have had trouble with Chrysler model communicating with the ABC scan tool. After a few attempts it would finally communicate? I have had no one been able to tell me why this happens? If after many failed attempts you may also need to contact Cen-Tech.

Keep in mind it is a several step process to get the ABS information unlike checking the DTC and readiness area of the engines operating systems.

Mine is a 2002 PT Cruiser. Brand new Cen-Tech with the ABS functionality.

waiting on tech support phone call. #14 in line.

it is the linking error that i get
