Unhappy Heated Seats

My heated seats were causing a parasitic drain and killing batteries in my 2001 PT Touring. The drivers side would turn on randomly and I was able to turn off when in the PT. The heated seat must have been turning on when the vehicle wasn't occupied.

I pulled the 40a heated seat fuse from the fuse block under the hood and haven't had the problem since.

I'd like to get my heated seats back. Cold in N. Illinois.

Could the heated seat relay be the problem and where is it located(I have a spare)???

The relay is not identified on either fuse block cover.

Could it be a different problem?

The heated seat relay is located at the bottom right of the dash fuse block. If you have a right hand drive car, then it is to the left.

If the relay is bad and sticks, it could pass battery power to the heated-seat module. However the module should not pass power to the heat elements unless it or a switch for the seats is faulty.
