Default Transmission Control Module

Recently I have been working with my dad on a 02 PT with auto trans. He bought it with frontend damage. One of the things that was hit was the TCM and the wire harness was pulled out of it. He found a good one off of a 01 that had the harness still attached. There was only one wire that was a diferent color. After getting it all hooked up, we found out that it didn't work (drove in limp mode). We then found another one that was a 02 with the same P/N. Still no luck just reverse and second. Is there a fuse or fusible link for it that could be blown? Could the 01 plug end be wired improperly? Any ideas? Please Help?

J1Stahl - Welcome.
Way over my head. Suggest you email MX-5. He's a mechanic who works on PTs and knows the answer.

Good luck.

I haven't had to much time to look at it lately, because of doing bodywork and painting. Last time I looked I couldn't find where or what fuse that goes for the TCM. Also was not aware of it having a relay. If anybody could help me locate them, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you're keeping the car, might be worth it to buy the shop manual on CD Rom from dealer. It has those gory details.....[:I]

Not a machanic, but there is a fuse box inside the engine
compartment. It's a black box by the battery. hope this helps.
