Default Squeaky pulley?

Hey guys and gals. I had my timing belt done not too long back if you guys recall. However shortly after getting Grape Ape back home, maybe a week, it started making a funny noise. I know it may be a loose/damaged/failed pulley, but I am unsure where to start. I thought it may have been power steering, as it looks the oldest i.e. rusted, so I checked the fluid level. It was fine, however the guild did seem a little foamy. The sound is like a metallic squeal. It does come from the belt side of the engine. Any ideas where I should look? Or should I just replace the pump? Thanks in advance.

Check your belts 1st, mainly the alternator...if that belt is too tight it will make the bearing go bad. Also check to make sure that none of them are rubbing on the timing cover.
If all looks fine, spray some water on the belts...if noise stops...you just have a loose belt.
If noise is still there, spray some WD-40 on each pulley one at a time to see if noise stops.

The tensioner for the power steering is known to make the noise.

Agree.
Usually belts squeal most in startup and damp conditions, bearings whenever....

That would suck. It's really irritating. Makes my car sound like crap. It does speed up with the RPMs.

That's not to hard to get to. Does the noise go away with the ac on?
